Futures PnL & ROE calculator

See the real profit of a leveraged trade after trading fees and funding. Free, private, runs in your browser.

How it works

  • Gross PnL = (Exit − Entry) × Quantity (reversed for shorts)
  • Fees = Fee % × (Entry × Qty + Exit × Qty)
  • Net PnL = Gross − Fees − Funding paid
  • Initial margin = Entry × Qty ÷ Leverage, and ROE = Net PnL ÷ Initial margin

Example: long 1 unit from 100 to 110 at 10x with no fees gives +10 net and 10 margin, so ROE is 100%.

FAQ

What is ROE?

Return on equity: your profit as a percentage of the margin you put up. Leverage multiplies ROE, not the price move.

How do I enter funding?

Enter the total funding you paid while holding as a positive number. If you received funding, enter it as a negative number.

Are maker and taker fees different?

Usually yes. Use your average fee per side, or the taker fee for a conservative estimate.
