Crypto liquidation price calculator

Estimate the liquidation price of an isolated-margin USDT-margined futures position, long or short. Free, private, runs in your browser.

How it works

For an isolated, linear (USDT-margined) position, ignoring fees and funding:

  • Long: Liquidation ≈ Entry × (1 − 1/Leverage + MMR)
  • Short: Liquidation ≈ Entry × (1 + 1/Leverage − MMR)

1/Leverage is your initial margin rate and MMR is the maintenance margin rate. Example: a 10x long at 100 with 0.5% MMR liquidates near 100 × (1 − 0.1 + 0.005) = 90.5.

This is an estimate. Exchanges use tiered maintenance margin, mark price, fees and their own formulas. Always check the liquidation price your exchange shows before trading.

FAQ

Why does my exchange show a different liquidation price?

Exchanges use the mark price, tiered maintenance margin by position size, deduct trading fees and sometimes add a maintenance amount. This calculator uses the standard simplified formula, so treat it as a quick estimate.

Does adding margin move the liquidation price?

Yes. On isolated margin, adding margin lowers the effective leverage of the position, which moves the liquidation price further from your entry.

Is cross margin different?

Yes. With cross margin your whole account balance backs the position, so liquidation depends on your total equity and other open positions. This tool covers isolated margin only.
