Daily compounding calculator (1% a day)

See what a constant daily % gain compounds to. Spoiler: almost no one sustains it. Free, private, runs in your browser.

How it works

Final = Start × (1 + daily %)days. Days to double = ln 2 ÷ ln(1 + daily %).

Example: $1,000 at 1% a day for 365 days → about $37,783 (+3,678%).

Reality check: no strategy reliably makes a fixed % every day. Losing days, fees, slippage and drawdowns break the curve. Chasing a daily target often leads to overtrading and big losses. Use this to understand compounding, not as a plan.

FAQ

Is 1% a day realistic?

Not consistently. Even professional funds would be thrilled with that per month. Treat it as a math illustration.

What happens with a losing day?

Losses compound too. A −10% day needs +11.1% to recover, so a few bad days can erase weeks of small gains.

Can I enter a negative daily %?

Yes, to see how steady small losses compound downward.
