| 2 | Jan 31, 2026 | 1 | Feb 28, 2026 | |
| 3 | Jan 15, 2026 | 3 | Apr 15, 2026 | |
| 4 | Aug 31, 2026 | -6 | Feb 28, 2026 |
How it works
- A2
- Start date.
- B2
- Months to add. Negative numbers subtract.
Common errors and fixes
Unexpected day?
Jan 31 + 1 month = Feb 28 (or 29). EDATE clamps to the month's last day.
Decimal months ignored?
EDATE truncates 1.5 to 1.
Does this work in Google Sheets?
